We know we're always bothering you to complete questionnaires and feedback forms, but we really do need all your thoughts, ideas and opinions about our service so that we can make it better for families in Alumwell and Pleck. Please don't hesitate to tell us your ideas, comments and complaints, by calling us, filling in our feedback forms or completing the contact form at the bottom of this page. 

On this page we will be sharing the results of surveys and feedback forms and telling you how Sure Start plan to use your ideas and suggestions.

Shout Out - February 2012

We like . . . . . . . .

The staff there are helpful and friendly and very approachable

The different courses that are available

All the information, especialy how each staff member has there own area i.e. Justine feeding, Sam development, etc

The way Sure Start helps me to meet new people i.e. day trips, first time fun group

The creche thats available in order for me to partake in the courses

First Time fun group for new parents and babies.

6 parents filled in the evaluation form and 100% said that the group met their needs as a first time parent.

What sort of things do you expect from First Time fun?

"Lots of fun and play in a safe environment, with a variety of different toys and similar age children. Lots of expert advice on weaning, tips, suggestions etc."

"Games, singing, music and social time for both Mother and Baby."

"Activities, indoors and outdoors."

"Activities for the baby, advice from the playgroup, opportunity to relax and chat to other Mothers."

"Fun toys and play for the little ones. Singing and interaction with other babies."

"Games, music, play activities."

Does this group meet your needs?

"It's been great. I love coming to the group and meeting the other Moms and I love bringing my baby to experience lots of first time fun."

"Yes, it is all I want."

"Yes good timing session."

"Yes it met with all my expectations. I enjoyed coming to the group to socialise with other Mothers and to get advice. Activities were enjoyable for my daughter."

 "Chance to learn and play with new Toys and experience different environments, safe and healthy."

There were six suggestions for improvements:

"Possibly high chairs for feeding."

"An extra half hour."

"Increase age up to 2 instead of 1 for first time Moms. "

"Outdoor activities."

"May need a bigger room soon as group is very popular."

"Could do with more activities."

Do you have any experiences to share about First Time Fun?

 "Really enjoyed doing things that you don't really do at home like painting, playing with jelly and corn flour dough. I loved Rhythm kids as it was something that I could do at home. Thanks Justine, I've learnt a lot from all your weaning tips, don't know what I would have done if I never came to the group. "

"My son enjoyed this session especially interacting with babies."

"Really good, baby enjoyed coming helped boost confidence being a new Mom and get to share experiences with other Moms."

"Fun group, chance to meet other First time Moms, learn new tips from each other and nice for the babies to play with other babies their own age."

"My baby really enjoyed the session - she enjoyed the pool."

Easter holiday Stay and Play session at Pleck Library.

13 parents filled in the evalution form and 100% said that they and their child enjoyed the session.

Some of the things they most enjoyed were:

"Making cakes and eating them and singing"

"The activities and healthy snacks"

"The activities and story"

"Planting the cress seeds, making the nest, also can return library books and get some more"

"Making the bee"

"Getting messy and making things"

"What I enjoyed most is that it kept the kids were entertained"

There were three suggestions for improvements

"More children attending"

"Serve chocolate with the fruit"

"Something for the over 5's"

We also received some nice comments

"Was a really good session, my child loved it"

"Continue with the good work, doing a brilliant job."

"You are doing well so far, good to see Sure Start providing activities for children that they enjoy."

PEEPS 1 – 2 Feedback – February 2012

Every week we are having different activities, which include my little boy loving it. He is learning colours, how to make cakes and knowing different animals - Katrina

The kids get to meet other kids, play, paint, messy play and just have lots of fun

All children are around the same age and can play with each other and learn and develop at the same time

Creative Workshop Feedback – January 2012

Enjoyed the family learning, I am very happy and my child and I enjoyed – Prabjot

The staff are very friendly and the centre is a great resource for people with small children. They have helped me to enjoy my children- Zakiea has been so supportive to me and my family- I wish I had got involved sooner and made the most of the fantastic course’s and groups available. Parent Forum and Sure Start Champions!

We currently have 5 parents on our parent forum and we would like more parents to come and help us at the centre and become Champions of the Centre!
